Link to a Word in Text

If you have not already added your document to your Media Library, do so using these instructions.

  1. Click on the “Media” tab on the WordPress menu on the left of the back end of the site.
  2. Navigate to the document in your library and click on it to activate the Attachment Details window.
  3. On the left will be a document preview with the right having additional information about the image. In the right column, scroll down to the “Copy Link” field and copy the link displayed.
    • Example: https://www.[Your Site Domain]/wp-content/uploads/[Year]/[Month]/[Document Title].[Document Type]
  4. With the link copied, navigate to the page or post by clicking on the “Page” or “Post” tab on the WordPress menu on the left of the back end of the site. Find the desired page or post where the link will live.
  5. If the page or post is in Visual view (just text on the page), skip this step. If the page or post is in Page Builder view, click “Edit” on a SiteOrigin Editor block.
  6. Highlight the word or phrase you would like to use as your link text. Click the link icon.
  7. Paste the document’s link in the link field.7
  8. Click the blue arrow to apply the link to the word. If the word shows in blue, the link has been applied.
