Add Location to Event

Add Location on the Event

  1. Find or create an event.
  2. Scroll to the “Event Details” section and click on “Location/Venue”.
  3. Click on the Event Main Location drop down. If other locations have already been added to the site, you will see a list of loaded locations. Be sure the location you’d like to use is not already in your list. If it’s not, click “Insert a new location”.
  4. Put the venue’s name where it says “Location Name” (eg. City Hall).
  5. Input the location’s address where it says “Event Location”. Put the city’s name if no address is available.
  6. Latitude and longitude can be used if it’s needed.
  7. Provide the “Location Website” if one is available. It will add a link for people to learn more about the location on your event.
  8. Select an image for the location by clicking “Choose image”. This is optional.

Add Additional Locations

  1. You can add additional locations for the event by looking at the “Other Locations” area.
  2. Put your cursor in the empty space and the list of locations will appear. You are only able to select a location that has already been added to the site in this area.
  3. Select all locations that apply to this event.

Preview & Save Event

  1. Be sure to “Preview” then “Publish” or “Update” your event.
  2. Saving the event will automatically add the location you created for this event. After saving the new location will be available for any other location.

Add Location to Locations menu

  1. Hover over “M.E. Calendar” and click on “Locations”.
  2. Enter the venue’s name in the “Name” field (eg. City Hall).
  3. The slug can be skipped as the venue name will automatically fill it in once the event is saved.
  4. Fill in the “Description” area if you’d like. It will not show up in all areas of the site.
  5. Input the location’s address where it says “Address”. Put the city’s name if no address is available.
  6. Latitude and longitude can be used if it’s needed.
  7. Provide the “Location Website” if one is available. It will add a link for people to learn more about the location on your event.
  8. Select an image for the location by clicking “Choose image”. This is optional.
  9. Click “Add New Location”.
