Add Link to Event

Use if you’d like to add a link for additional info. Think a Facebook Event, a separate event website, a booking link, or a pdf with more information.

  1. Find or create an event.
  2. Scroll to the “Event Details” section and click on “Links”.
  3. There will be two sets of fields available: Event Link and More Info – most commonly used. 
  4. Event Link: Use if you’d like the provided link to redirect visitors instead of bringing them to your calendar listing.
  5. More Info: Providing content in this area will add a button on the event’s listing.
    • Put the web address in the first field (e.g. http://yoursite.com/your-event). If you’d like to link to a pdf in your Media Library, open a new tab and navigate to your site’s media library. Upload or find the desired pdf. Click on it. In the right column will be a list of info about your media item including a “File URL”. Copy this url and paste it into your event’s first field.
    • The second field (More Information) is the button’s text. You may consider using More Info, Learn More, Order Tickets, Book Now depending on your event’s link.
    • If the link is not apart of your site, select “New Window” from the drop down. Visitors will not leave your site when they click on the button if this option is selected.
  6. Be sure to “Preview” then “Publish” or “Update” your event.
  7. Saving the event will automatically add the location you created for this event. After saving the new location will be available for any other location.
