Sometimes collecting high quality images for your website isn’t possible. In that case we turn to our arsenal of stock websites. They are all free to use and require no attribution... though it’s nice to do. Attribution is when you are required to credit the photographer or designer.

All of the following sites require you to create a free account to download images.

Unsplash boasts a huge collection of photos submitted by professional and amateur photographers.

Filter through their images by orientation or color.

All photos from this site will meet IWDS’ 2400 pixel wide minimum requirement for header and slideshow images.

Another great option offering a large collection of photos. Pexels also has short format stock videos. Many of the videos are shot in portrait mode which makes them perfect for use on your social media platforms.

Narrow down your search and filter by the image/video orientation or sizes.

Pixabay offers the most types of media on a single site. They have photographs, illustrations, vector graphics, videos, and GIFs available for download.

Media is available in a variety of sizes. Be sure to select the proper size based on where you will be using it.

Their site also features the most robust filtering available of these three sites. Search by orientation, size, color, and publish date.
